In the summer of 1982 Rick Sanders began his jewelry apprenticeship in a small jewelry shop in SE Gainesville. Over the years he has learned that jewelry making is an art and there are no shortcuts to perfection. Rick developed an eye for selecting quality diamonds and gemstones and mastered the art of jewelry making. Now, a quarter of a century later, old world craftsmanship is a hallmark of Rick’s designs. Hand engraving, mill graining, pave’ setting and beadwork are just a few of the traditional techniques that Rick proudly features to ensure the highest quality possible while adding a dramatic vintage flair to his designs. Rick’s skill and dedication to his craft has left him unequaled in this area and has made him highly sought after by discriminating clients all over the country.

Sanders Jewelers is the realization of a dream that started more than 18 years ago when Rick and his wife Melinda were first married. Melinda, who has a business degree from the University of Florida, shares her eye for fashion and with her feminine intuition serves as his daily creative inspiration. Her flair for symmetry and design can be seen throughout their showcases which feature designers like Andrea Candela, Jane Wulbrant, Kurt Gutman, Galatea Jewelry by Artist, Divine Bridal, Almer , Benchmark Wedding Bands, Ball Watches and Imperial Pearl just to name a few.

At Sanders Jewelers they know that the very best is always preferred, not only in craftsmanship but in design as well. Rick stays abreast of the latest technology available to the industry and is constantly pushing the boundaries of this technology to create new and unique designs. His shop is also a mixture of vintage and modern. He works at a 100 year old tiger oak jewelers’ bench right next to a brand new neutron beam laser welder. Customers are welcome and encouraged to watch Rick at work in his state of the art jewelry repair shop. On any given day you can watch as he turns raw materials into miniature works of art, sizes your ring or repairs your eyeglasses!
